A pairing of porcelain trinket boxes. Featured is a hand-painted Parry Vielle Limoges box presenting a figural orange and white cat resting on a large wine colored yarn ball with gilt lines mimicking fibers to the exterior. A mouse serves as the closure to the metal rims and the piece is marked ‘Limoges France Peint Main P.V.’ to the interior. The remaining box offers a bright yellow crescent moon with a stylized face resting on a spherical dark blue body adorned with gilt stars. There is no visible maker’s mark.
