A graphite drawing on paper by American western artist Leal Mack (1892 – 1962). This work features a Native American charging on horseback with a rifle. Signed to the lower right, the work is presented under glass with white matting, and housed in a silver-tone and black wood frame.
Leal Mack was a painter and illustrator whose work appeared in several magazines such as Saturday Evening Post, Harper’s, Country Gentlemen, and Youth’s Companion. He studied at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts and later moved to New Mexico, where he became known for his portrayals of the American west.

- residue and smudge marks throughout mat; wear in frame includes stains, scratches, and finish loss scattered throughout; residue on glass.
