A watercolor painting on paper by listed American western artist Austin Deuel (b. 1939). This work features a some Native Americans on horseback trudging through the snow-covered landscape to their campsite in the far distance. Signed to the lower right, the work is presented under glass, double-matted, and housed in a rustic wood frame. A short bio of the artist is adhered to the verso.

Born in Pittsburgh, Austin Deuel moved to Arizona in 1971. He is a sculptor, painter, and muralist especially known for his depictions of the American west. Deuel has authored several books including Canon De Los Artistas (1982), Even God is Against Us (1986), and Swan Lake, Nature’s Amazing Grace (2006). He is a member of the American Indian and Cowboy Artists, and his work has been collected by multiple institutions such as the U.S. Marine Corps Museum, the U.S. Airforce Combat Art Collection, and Trinity University, among others.
