A pair of 1960s era first printing books signed by author Stephen Cole, a pseudonym used by Gale D. Webbe, of Highlands, North Carolina. Titles include, a 1963 first printing of Pitcher and I published in New York by Ariel Books, a Division of Farrar, Straus, & Cudahy, Inc. The writer signed a book plate with ‘both ’ his names which appears on the front end papers. Also included is a 1966 first printing of The Growing Season published by the same. This book is inscribed in ink, ’For Jim Edgy, Gale D. Webbe, ’Stephen Cole’.

Condition
- Some yellowing, some pages are wrinkled at the corners from “folding”. The dust jackets are in good shape with minimal tears. The book plate with the authors signature has become unglued.
