A 1962 hardcover second printing of the biography Marine! The Life of Lt. Gen. Lewis B. (Chesty) Puller, USMC (Ret) by Burke Davis. This copy is inscribed and signed by the General in ink with the following inscription: ’ Saluda, VA 3 June 1962 To: L.G. Edgy of Christ Church School, the best teacher my son, Lewis, has ever had, with appreciation and best wishes, Lewis Burwell Puller.’ Published in Boston by Little Brown and Company.

General Lewis B Puller (June 26, 1898 – October 11, 1971) has the distinct honor of being the most decorated Marine in American history. He was award five Navy Crosses, and one Army Distinguished Service Award. His son, Lewis Burwell Puller, Jr. (1945-1994) was also a former United States Marine Corps officer who was severely wounded in the Vietnam War. He was an attorney and the 1992 Pulitzer Prize award winner for his autobiography, Fortunate Son.
