19th Century Chinese Qing Dynasty Silk Robe
Item Details
A 19th century Chinese Qing Dynasty (1644-1912) robe. This robe has wide sleeves, silk on silk embroidered floral bands along the collar and side panels in blue, gold and ivory silk threading accented with silk ribbon. The robe is in a golden silk brocade fabric detailed with a tone on tone pattern of scrolls and cloud symbols with cast brass buttons and silk ribbon loop fasteners. The lining is in a light blue silk and the bell sleeves have an embroidered design on the interior.

Condition
- to Poor, holes and tears throughout the garment, some in the seams, underarm, and some of the silk ribbon adornment is detached. One of the button fasteners are frayed. The silk is discolored (faded) and stained in spots and the liner is frayed and discolored. Parts of the embroidery is also frayed with holes and wear.
