Item Details

A vintage hand-knotted Persian Hamadan wool carpet runner. This rug is rendered in an abrash palette of madder red to terracotta, slate blue, wheat, wine, black, sepia, mocha, and rose. The madder red hued field begins with a stepped square medallion ending in arrows, while featuring an allover stylized herati design. Framing the field is a main stylized herati border with a slate blue ground, along with carnation meander guard borders. Finishing this rug are overcast selvedges and a cotton warp fringe to the ends. It is unlabeled.
