A hand-knotted Indo-Persian wool area rug. This rug is rendered in a variegated palette of cranberry, indigo, sand, teal, apricot, sky blue, mocha, olive, and ivory. The cranberry colored field begins with a central medallion flanked by large palmettes and lancette leaves, and it features ornate vine-work throughout with similar palmettes, floral motifs, and fan shapes. Framing the over populated field is an indigo grounded main stylized herati border with flowering vines, along with a pair of floral designed guard borders. Finishing this rug are overcast selvedges and a cotton warp fringe to the ends. This rug is unlabeled.
