A mid 20th-century oil painting on canvas titled Young Indian Shepherd with Flock by American western artist Charles Damrow (1916 – 1989). This workfeatures a Native American man resting on a rock in a mountainous western landscape, with his flock visible in the distance. Signed to the lower right, the work is presented in a distressed beige gesso and wood frame. A descriptive label and a short bio of the artist are adhered to the verso.

Born in Wisconsin, Charles Damrow was known for his paintings of Western subjects, including cowboys and Native Americans. He was mostly self-taught as an artist, although he had friendly relations with several notable western artists such as Olaf Wieghorst, Barry Goldwater, Peter McDonald and Bill McGee. His work can be found in private and corporate collections, municipal buildings, and the collection of leading Arizona art patron, Bank President Walter Bimson.
