Hand-Knotted Persian Qom Wool Room Sized Rug
Item Details
A hand-knotted Persian Qom wool room sized rug. This rug is rendered in a palette of cobalt, clementine, wheat, ivory, sapphire, powder blue, gold, and coral. The cobalt colored field features an intricately designed Gonbad-style double pendant medallion enclosed by coordinating spandrels with a wheat ground. The field also features an arabesque design of purling vine-work of palmettes, lancettes leaves, and floral motifs. Framing the field is a main clementine grounded herati border, along with floral meander guard, and minor borders. Finishing this rug are overcast selvedges and a wool warp fringe to the ends. It is unlabeled.
