A hand-knotted Persian Hamadan wool area rug. This rug is rendered in a variegated palette of scarlet, ivory, indigo, teal, magenta, slate, and taupe. The field features a stylized herati design that flows over the lozenged scarlet hued field, the indigo ground, and layered spandrels, along with the hexagonal pendant medallion. Framing the field is an unresolved main ivory grounded floral meander border, as well as floral meander guard borders, and pearl patterned minor borders. Finishing this rug are overcast selvedges and a wool warp fringe to the ends. It is unlabeled.
