A hand-knotted Peshawar area rug. This wool and silk pile rug, likely made in Pakistan, is finely hand-knotted in a tea-washed palette of gold, sky blue, camel, saffron, teal, and cream. It features an allover floral pattern incorporating large palmettes, flowers, foliage, and vines over a cream-colored field. Framing the field are carnation meander guard and secondary borders, while the primary border features palmette and oak leaf pattern over sky-blue. The rug is finished with overcast selvedges and wool warp fringe. It is unlabeled.
