Hand-Knotted Caucasian Wool Area Rug

A hand-knotted Caucasian wool area rug. This rug is rendered in an abrash palette of madder red, sapphire, wine, teal, taupe, and ivory. The madder red colored field features a pole of three hexagonal medallions infilled with hooked forms, and accompanied by rosettes. Framing the field are two rosette designed borders, along with a pair of diagonal striped borders, and a sawtooth guard border. Finishing this rug are overcast selvedges and a wool warp fringe to the ends. It is unlabeled.
