Item Details

A hand-knotted Persian Malayer wool room sized rug. This rug is rendered in a slight abrash palette of madder red, black, ivory, cobalt, teal, soft red, and wheat. The madder red hued field begins with a hooked pendant medallion with a floral theme enclosed by deep layered spandrels with ivory and cobalt grounds. The field also features an array of floral sprays and bouquets throughout. Framing the field is a black grounded main floral meander border, as well as carnation meander guard borders. Finishing this rug are overcast selvedges and a wool warp fringe to the ends. It is unlabeled.
