A hand-knotted Persian Tabriz wool area rug. This rug is rendered in a slight abrash palette of crimson, powder blue, wheat, sky blue, ivory, indigo, rose, and olive. The crimson colored field begins with a lobed pendant medallion ornately designed in a floral and foliate theme. The floral theme travels throughout the field with sprays, and bouquets, as well as to the deep layered spandrels. Framing the field is a main wheat grounded floral designed border, along with floral guard borders, and geometrically patterned guard borders. Finishing this rug are overcast selvedges and a wool warp fringe to the ends. It is unlabeled.
