A hand-knotted Persian Qashqai wool area rug. This rug is rendered in a palette of madder red, sapphire, clementine, black, ivory, cranberry, teal, plum, and pale yellow. The lozenged madder red hued field begins with a hooked medallion infilled with a smaller central medallion that coordinates with the medallions at each corner of the sapphire ground. The field also features an array of tree of life motifs, floral motifs, and columns to the edges with horse head caps. Framing the field is a main ivory grounded floral meander border, along with sawtooth guard borders. Finishing this rug are overcast selvedges and a wool warp fringe to the ends. It is unlabeled.
