Item Details
A hand-knotted Persian Hamadan wool area rug. This rug is rendered in a variegated palette of sapphire, madder red, ivory, cobalt, teal, wheat, and rose. The sapphire hued field begins with a stepped diamond pendant medallion, while featuring an allover herati design which flows over the layered spandrels as well. Framing the field is a main madder red grounded star and bracket border, along with Hamadan guard borders. Finishing this rug are overcast selvedges and a wool warp fringe to the ends. It is unlabeled.
