A hand-knotted Persian Kerman vase carpet runner. This wool pile rug is rendered in a colorway of sapphire, madder red, goldenrod, salmon, sky blue, and custard. The elongated field features a deconstructed lattice pattern consisting of boteh, palmettes, flower stalks, purling foliage, and arabesqued vines. Framing the field are geometric guard and secondary borders, while the primary border displays a resolved herati motif over madder red. The rug is finished with overcast barber pole selvedges and cotton warp fringe. It is unlabeled.
