Hand-Knotted Persian Lamberan Wool Carpet Runner

Item Details

A hand-knotted Persian Lamberan carpet runner. This wool pile rug is rendered in an abrashed palette of madder red, salmon, sky blue, tangerine, chocolate, and ivory. It is centered with a pole of polyagonal medallions, infilled with floral and geometric motifs and alternating in shape and design. The elongated field is densely populated with rectilinear forms, framed by a resolved geometric guard border, and encircled with a chain of carnations over indigo. The rug is finished with overcast barber pole selvedges and cotton warp fringe. It is unlabeled.
