Signed to the lower right, the work is presented under glass, double-matted, and housed in a brown beveled wood frame. A descriptive label adhered to the verso provides a short bio of the artist.

Born in Attica, New York, Ralph DeCamp is remembered as a painter, muralist, and illustrator of the American west. After his wife’s death, he studied at the Pennsylvania School of Art in Philadelphia, and shortly thereafter, was commissioned to paint Yellowstone National Park by the Northern Pacific Railroad. Later in life, DeCamp was also commissioned by the Montana Capitol to paint murals of the landscape. His work can be found in galleries and many private collections.
