A hand-painted earthenware sculpture of the Evangelist St. Matthew attributed to listed sculptor Eugenio Pattarino (1885-1971). This work features gold tone detailing, depicting the full figure of St. Matthew with an angel to his side. The figure has a white glaze to his limbs and face, the molded details simply but thoughtfully detailed. This work is signed “Prof. Patterino, Italy L-40”.
