A hand-knotted Indo-Caucasian Kazak wool area rug. This rug is rendered in a palette of madder red, ivory, powder blue, sapphire, cornsilk, apricot, and olive. The madder red colored field is over populated with a large sevan, or shield, medallion that features animal head motifs, and a central star form. Framing the field is a main boxed animal head border, along with laleh abbasi guard borders. Finishing this rug are overcast selvedges and a wool warp fringe to the ends. It is unlabeled.
