An antique oil on canvas still-life painting of Apples by Maine artist Josephine E. Bradstreet (1859 – 1920). The image shows a group of apples that have been dumped out of a woven basket. It is signed J.E.Bradstreet in the lower left corner. The painting is presented in a gold toned frame.
Born in Leeds, Maine, Josephine Elizabeth Wyman Bradstreet (1859-1920) was a listed American artist who started out as a self-taught artist and later studied under Edward Chalmers Leavitt at the Corcoran Gallery in Washington D.C. Bradstreet exhibited her works at the Corcoran Gallery, as well as at the Portland (Maine) Art Museum.
