A mid century Chinese seascape painting by Ming. The work is in an expressionistic style with thick applications of paint, and depicts an atmospheric misty river with towering blue mountains to the distant horizon, low hills to the mid ground with sampans, covered dwellings and trees hugging the shore, and to the foreground a sailing vessel with single blue mask and orange and olive green highlights to the boat’s body. A fisherman in a small boat is to the left of the larger vessel. The painting is signed in black to the lower left and displayed in a black wood Asian style frame, wired to the verso.
