An 1855 embossed leather with gilt edition of The Scenery of the United States Illustrated In a Series of Forty Engravings published by D. Appleton and Company, New York. Each engraving is accompanied by descriptive prose capturing the uniqueness of the particular place. The front end paper has an inscription in ink, ‘Ellen W. During’, with the date January 1, 1857.

Condition
