A large hand-woven and dry-felted wool textile by listed Israeli artist Calman Shemi (born 1939) titled Eagle #2. This non-objective ‘soft painting’ features color blocked sections overlaid with geometric textured forms with a strong sense of line utilizing primary colors. The work is hand-woven out of wool with a thick overlay of needle-felted wool that enhances the ‘painted’ appearance. It is presented on a cotton mounth and framed under glass. An accompanying certificate of authenticity states that the work is signed to the verso within the frame.

Condition

- surface wear to the frame; visible accretions between the glass and the piece; piece is not laying flat beneath frame.
