Spanish Style Silver Plate Oval Wall Mirror Frame

Item Details

An oval wall mirror frame with a Spanish style silver plate overlay. With an underlying wooden structure, this overlay of this mirror includes a repoussé pediment in the shape of an exaggerated shell form. The repoussé and engraved pattern throughout the rest of the mirror features scrolling foliate motifs, ‘C’ scrolls, shells, and cartouche accents. No apparent marks were found. Mirror glass is not included.

Condition

- to fair; tarnish, scuffs, finish loss, and stains throughout silver plate frame; residue throughout frame crevices; frame does not include mirror glass; top edge of overlay is separating from shell pediment.
