Semi-Antique Hand-Knotted Persian Wool Room Sized Rug
Item Details
A semi-antique hand-knotted Persian wool room sized rug. This rug is rendered in an abrash and variegated palette of sky blue, gold, salmon, indigo, madder red, celedon, ochre, and wheat. The gold hued field begins with a central pendant medallion, accompanied by scrolling vine-work of palmettes, split leaves, and foliate motifs throughout, along with deep sky blue grounded spandrels. Framing the field is a main indigo grounded stylized herati border, as well as floral guard borders. Finishing this rug are double overcast selvedges and a wool warp fringe to the ends. It is unlabeled.
