A semi-antique hand-knotted Persian Kerdar wool area rug. This rug is rendered in an abrash palette of madder red, indigo, sky blue, wheat, walnut, and rose. The madder red hued field begins with a ‘lighting’ edged pendant medallion with coordinating spandrels, each grounded in indigo featuring latticed rosettes. Framing the field is a main unresolved lobed flower and stemmed flower designed border, along with a pair of chained boteh guard borders. Finishing this rug are overcast selvedges and wool warp fringe that has been cut down and reinforced. It is unlabeled.
