Early 20th Century Flemish Carved Beech and Embossed Leather Armorial Chair

Item Details

An early 20th century Flemish carved beech and embossed leather armorial chair. The frame features an elaborately-carved, scrolled-foliate crest centered by a spread-winged eagle clutching a shield, which is flanked by a pair of figural finials. Directly below is a painted and embossed leather back with star-shaped brasses above an over upholstered seat in multi-colored, patchwork fabric with brass tacks along the lower edge. It rises on block-and-turned legs joined by a pierced and scrolled stretcher in the front.
