An early 20th century Carolean style carved mahogany armchair and an oak side chair. The armchair features an arched, foliate- and shell-carved crest above a padded back and a spring seat in multi-colored, patchwork upholstery with tiny, embroidered mirrors and brass tacks along the edges. The open arms continue to scrolled, acanthine handholds over block- and trumpet-turned, front legs joined by a carved and scrolled stretcher and ending in lobed feet. Also included is a side chair with an arched crest above a padded, scrolled-foliate back flanked by a pair of turned stiles with ball finials and rosette, terminal blocks. The spring seat rises on block-and-turned, front legs joined by a pierced and scrolled stretcher and ending in ball feet.
