Item Details

A vintage Louis XV style ebonized side chair. The wooden, black-painted frame features a pierced, cartouche-shaped back with an acanthus- and shell-carved crest above a vertical, lattice-carved splat flanked by scrolled and molded stiles. The padded, serpentine-front seat is upholstered in later, brown leather with brass tacks along the edges over an acanthus-carved, front apron. The chair rises on cabriole, front legs with acanthine knees and scrolled feet.
