A vintage George III style mahogany ribbon-back armchair by Frank S. Harden Co. The frame features four pierced, ribbon slats flanked by molded stiles continuing to serpentine, open arms. The trapezoidal, padded seat is upholstered in later, blue fabric and the chair rises on square, molded legs in the front and raking legs in the back. There is a label below the seat reading ‘Made By / The Frank S. Harden Co., Inc. / McConnellsville, N.Y.’ and another marked ‘Merrell Furniture Co. / Mocksville, NC’.
