A semi-antique hand-knotted Persian Heriz Serapi wool room sized rug. This rug is rendered in an abrash palette of cranberry, denim, carnation, sky blue, ivory, sand, fern, powder blue, and black. The lozenged cranberry hued field features a large star shaped pendant medallion infilled, and surrounded by an array of rectilinear designed floral and foliate motifs. The lozenge is grounded by an ivory colored field with coordinating spandrels, and large leave forms. Framing the field is a stylized denim grounded unresolved main leaf and blossom border, along with floral meander guard borders. Finishing this rug are double overcast selvedges and a wool warp fringe that has been covered by an applied cotton fringe. It is unlabeled.
