A grouping of three early to mid 20th century hardcover books on the American Civil War and Civil War Generals. Titles include a 1954 signed by author edition of General A.P. Steward His Life and Letters by Marshall Wingfield, Former Commander in Chief and Former Historian in Chief Sons of the Confederate Veterans and Member Executive Committee Tennessee Historical Commission, published by The West Tennessee Historical Society Memphis Tennessee. The author signed the front endpapers in blue ink with an inscription, ‘For Nick Hanson Jr., Whose fine friendship is a very precious treasure, this volume is gratefully inscribed by the author, Marshall Wingfield, Christmas 1954’. Also, a 1953 limited edition of 1000 copies of Fourteen Hundred and 91 Days in the Confederate Army, A Journal Kept by W.W. Heartsill for Four Years, One Month and One Day edited by Bell Irvin Wiley, published by McCowat-Mercer Press, Jackson Tennessee. An inscription appears on the front endpapers. Plus, a 1929 first edition of The Life of The Gallant Pelham by Philip Mercer. published by The J.W. Burke Company, Georgia.
