Antique Late Victorian Chest of Drawers in Old Paint

Item Details

An antique late Victorian chest of drawers in old paint. The paneled case retains an old, if not original, painted surface. It features a rectangular top above a stack of three drawers with Knapp joints and metal, ring pulls. The drawers are flanked by reeded stiles and the chest rises on stile legs with a cutout, front skirt. The back is stenciled ‘343 / 21’ and inscribed ‘W / Shelbyville / T’.

- to poor; paint losses and chipping throughout; top with some stains; missing a couple ring handles; drawers stick; originally had a mirror and glove boxes attached to the back and top, which are now missing.
