An original acrylic painting on wood panel by contemporary Cincinnati artist Teresa Tolentino. This painting features a thick impasto ground, with an ombre pattern transitioning from blue along the upper edge, to white at the lower edge, with a single red horizontal band towards the top. This piece is signed in black pigment to the lower right. It has painted sides and is ready to hang.

Tolentino was an artistic child growing up in middle class America. However, when she gained early acceptance to Xavier University there was no art major. Instead, she majored in Foreign Languages, which became a huge influence in her art. After working in education for over thirty years, including teaching positions at University of Cincinnati, Miami University, Xavier University, and Seven Hills, she was finally able to begin her art career, using her entire life’s journey as her inspiration. Recently, and most poignantly, this has included her family’s struggle with Huntington’s disease.
