Donald Lipski is a sculptor best known for his installations and large-scale public works. Lipski earned a BA from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in history and was an avid anti-war activist. While pursuing his undergraduate studies, the artist discovered an interest in ceramics and began studying under Don Reitz (American, 1929 – 2014). Later, he earned is MA in ceramics from the Cranbrook Academy of Art, studying under Richard DeVore (American, 1933 – 2006). Lipski’s works are held in a large variety of permanent museum collections, including the Brooklyn Museum, the Detroit Institute of Art, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Whitney Museum of American Art, and more.
