Sterling Silver Frank Herschede Co. Tea Pot
Item Details
A sterling silver teapot by The Frank Herschede Company. The teapot bears floral and bow detailing to the lid and foot, with acanthus style handle at inserts. The handle is crafted of ebony wood. Frank Herschede was a wall clock maker and jeweler in Cincinnati, Ohio in the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. The piece is marked to the underside ‘Frank Herschede Co.,’ ‘Sterling, 2 1/2 Pints,’ and ‘2650.’
Condition
- to Fair, tarnish to exterior, wear to finish on ebony handle with an imperfection of the wood to the top of the handle. Dings to the sterling with some surface scratches. Incised identification number to underside, created after production.
