20th Century Moroccan Pottery Garniture Set with Pewter Overlay
Item Details
A 20th century Moroccan hand glazed pottery garniture set comprising a large covered jar and a pair of candlesticks on tripod bases. The colorful pottery is a collage of floral and geometric patterns with pewter wire overlay (filigree and rope) compartmentalizing each design. The jar has a fitted lid with a finial and the candlesticks rise from an elevated tripod base to support an 1.25’ circumference candle.
Condition
- to fair for age; one candlestick has a loose top and one crack in the side of the lid which is stabilized by the wire overlay. Discoloration to interiors, hairlines cracks in base of one; base of one candlestick has been cracked and repaired. Accretion and tarnish to metals; wear to undersides.
