A power-loomed Kurdish Williamsburg area rug by Karastan. This worsted wool pile rug is rendered in a colorway of sapphire, teal, cornflower, blush, sage, mauve, umber, and wheat. The field is densely populated with a stylized herati motif comprised of oversized palmettes, rosettes, vines, and foliage. Framing the field are floral meander guard and secondary borders, while the primary border displays a palmette grounded herati over mauve. The rug is finished with serged selvedges and applied wool fringe. A label to the reverse reads ‘woven in the USA’.
