An original watercolor painting on paper by Cincinnati artist Elizabeth O’Neill (1930 – 2018). The painting depicts patched fields of purple, blue, orange, and brown paint. The painting is signed in ink to the lower left. It is matted in pale heathered gray and presented behind glass in a gold tone metal frame with a hanging wire.

Elizabeth O’Neill was born in Cleveland, Ohio and earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from St. Mary of the Woods College in Indiana. After furthering her education with graduate work at the Cleveland and Chicago Art Institutes and Northern Illinois University, she spent twelve years teaching art to inner-city high school students in Chicago. ‘There,’ she says, ‘I learned the grassroots of humanity and found expression to be a saving factor.’
