An original 1986 watercolor painting on paper by Cincinnati artist Elizabeth O’Neill (1930 – 2018). The painting depicts bursts of blue and red paint emerging from a central oval filled with small circles. The painting is signed and dated in graphite to the lower right. It is matted in white and presented behind non-glare glass in a wood frame with a hanging wire.

Elizabeth O’Neill was born in Cleveland, Ohio and earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from St. Mary of the Woods College in Indiana. After furthering her education with graduate work at the Cleveland and Chicago Art Institutes and Northern Illinois University, she spent twelve years teaching art to inner-city high school students in Chicago. ‘There,’ she says, ‘I learned the grassroots of humanity and found expression to be a saving factor.’
