A hand-knotted Indian Karaja wool runner. The runner has a vivid red background designed with seven large medallions to the center, four in off white backgrounds and three with navy blue hooked borders. Surrounding the featured medallions is an overall geometric pattern in shades of off white, cobalt blue, red and navy blue. The rug has a major border with a black background designed with alternating red closed cruciforms and pinwheel shapes, this border flanked by guard stripes in both a running water motif and dog tooth motif. The rug is finished to both ends with off white selvedge fringe.
