Item Details
A vintage hand-knotted Persian Heriz wool area rug. This rug is rendered in a palette of salmon, custard, black, walnut, umber, olive, and slate. The salmon colored field is lozenged over a custard ground with stepped and crenelated edges, and it features a large star pendant medallion. The field features rectilinear designed floral and foliate motifs throughout, while enclosed by salmon grounded spandrels. Framing the field is a main black hued samovar border, along with a Hamadan guard border, and a carnation meander guard border. Finishing this rug are double overcast selvedges and a wool warp fringe to the ends. It is unlabeled, but offers vinyl bands to the underside.
