A watercolor painting on paper by American artist Carolyn Zimmerman (born 1903). This work depicts the portrait of a woman with short dark hair and a maroon sleeveless top. It is signed to the lower right and presented mounted on mat board, behind glass, and in a wooden frame.

Carolyn Zimmerman was born in Walton, Indiana and became the wife of prominent Cincinnati artist Carl Zimmerman. She started her formal artistic training at the Cincinnati Art Academy and studied with French sculptor and painter Antoine Bourdelle as well as Madame Levy-Ginsborg in Paris. Zimmerman body of work primarily focuses on forested landscapes. Carolyn, along with her husband Carl Zimmerman, was a member of the Cincinnati School of Painters.
