An original oil painting on canvas by very well-listed American painter Maude Kaufman Eggemeyer (Indiana/New York/North Carolina, 1877 – 1959). The painting depicts an autumnal forest landscape painted in short, Impressionistic strokes of textured paint in warm shades of orange, brown, yellow, and green. The painting is signed in red to the lower right. It is presented in a broad composite frame with gold tone finish, green linen lining, and a hanging wire attached to the verso.

Eggemeyer studied at Earlham College and the Cincinnati Art Academy, and under prolific American painter John Elwood Bundy. Her work is housed in many collections including the Haan Mansion Museum of Indiana Art, Richmond Art Museum, Indiana State Museum and the Louise and Alan Sellars Collection of Art by American Women in Indianapolis.
