Item Details

A circa 1790 inlaid and veneered mahogany and cherry tea caddy in a sarcophagus form. The antique box features a hipped hinged lid with keyed lock. The sides taper at the lower half and sit on turned wooden feet. The keyhole is adorned with an inlaid escutcheon. The interior features two tea compartments and center waste compartment. An English Davenport red transferware bowl completes the set up. The box is decorated inside the lid with an original watercolor landscape depicting a stream. The artwork is dated 1881. The box is complete with key to lock.
