James Madison and James Monroe Land Grant Document Signed March 3, 1812
Item Details
An 1812 Land Grant document multi-signed by President James Madison and then Secretary of State James Monroe. The Land Grant to John Gamble of Butler County, Cincinnati for the ‘sale of the Lands of the United States in the territory north-west of the Ohio and above the mouth of the Kentucky river….’. Both signatures were signed in black ink by a dip pen and the document is dated March 3, 1812. A Letter of Authenticity from James Spence Authentication accompanies the document.
