An acrylic and watercolor painting on paper by artist Martha Fairchild (20th-century), created circa 1970s. This work features an abstract floral composition, portrayed with large sweeping brushstrokes and vibrant colors. It is unsigned and remains unframed.

Martha Fairchild Shepler was a longtime instructor of graphic design at La Roche College, where she headed the department for 14 years. Mostly known for her printmaking, she was a member of the Associated Artists of Pittsburgh and a founder of the Pittsburgh Print Group. She also taught part-time at the Pittsburgh Center for the Arts, where famed artist Keith Haring was among her students.
